Video: Intimidating TBR Pile Tag

So the video we did this week is another tag video! In it we tell you all about that never-ending and always looming pile of books that all readers have—the TBR (to be read) pile. This tag was originally created by Lindsey Rey on YouTube and you can watch her video of it here! We heard about the tag though, from Regan’s video on her channel PeruseProject! So, you guys can check out that video too!

Anyway, this video is basically just a rant of all of the books that we have been meaning to read, but just have not been able to get ourselves to read for one reason or another! You guys know how it is.

Here are all of the books we mention in the video, along with their Goodreads links so you guys can find out a little bit more about them if you’re interested!

What books have you guys been putting off reading recently? Are there any books in your TBR pile that you have been putting off for years (or is that just us)? Are any of the books we’ve mentioned also on your TBR? If so, have you not read them yet for the same reasons as us? Let us know in the comments!

  1. Yeah I bought The Name of the Wind and it isn’t that thick (600-700 pages, i read the first two game of thrones books btw), but the words are so tiny! I have a feeling that it will be a while until I have the courage to pick it up, but I’ve heard great things about it.

    1. Yeah The Name of the Wind was not unmanageable! But yes, the words are so tiny it is almost difficult to see them haha. We have heard really great things too. We’ll probably just wait until summer, then we should have plenty of time to read it!

  2. I have been reading a non-fiction book called Color: A Natural HIstory of the Palette by Victoria Finlay for months now. I am on my last allowed library renew so I’ve got to finish it. I am really interested in color and wanted to learn more, but the history and geography background that this book requires, for the reading to go more quickly, is knowledge I just do not have.
There are some series books that I want to read and what’s stopping me is that my local library doesn’t have them, and they are too new to get through the library sharing network. One of them is the final book of The Neapolitan Novels by Elena Ferrante.
I agree about the Ally Condie books, unfortunately. Another author I had enjoyed, Jonathan Franzen, just came out with a new book called Purity which I read and hated. I felt betrayed by the author and now I don’t trust him. It’s very adult stuff and he does strong character development which I found unique, but, I’m out next time.
Finally, you should go for it with Outlander! It’s not even really my bag but I found it to be such smooth reading, it will go by in second, especially since you already know the story. (It’s just the other 7 you need to worry about sucking up your time, lol!)

    1. Yeah there was just something about those Matched books that we just found kind of boring and unoriginal. It is really devastating when an author you normally like comes out with a book that is just not at all like what they have written before, too! Yeah, we think in the end, although Outlander is a really long series, that it will be pretty entertaining and easy to get through (even if it will be an eight book commitment)!
