Special Editions We LOVE

Hey everyone! We hope your 4th of July week was fun (if you’re American) :))

We were on vacation at the beach this past week, so we had a great time sunbathing and swimming in the ocean!

While we were on vacation though, we were seeing tons of posts about the new house editions of Harry Potter that are JUST AWESOME and that got us thinking about all the other special editions of books that are coming out or have already come out that we JUST LOVE!

So, we want to tell you guys about all the special editions that we JUST ADORE—wether that is because of their gorgeous new covers or awesome bonus content. These collector’s copies are ESSENTIAL to any book-lover’s collection (at least in our eyes)!

Here’s the “elite” list…

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (House Editions) by J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (Illustrated Edition) by J.K. Rowling and Jim Kay

We also have a review of this wonderful book, which you can find here.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Illustrated Edition) by J.K. Rowling and Jim Kay

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Illustrated Edition) by J.K. Rowling and Jim Kay

Twilight—and Life and Death— (10th Anniversary Edition) by Stephanie Meyer

The Book Thief  by Markus Zusak

City of Bones (10th Anniversary Edition) by Cassandra Clare

Vampire Academy (10th Anniversary Edition) by Richelle Mead

What special editions do you guys love? Let us know in the comments! (We could always benefit from a few more gorgeous special editions in our collection, even if our wallets don’t…)

  1. Agh I LOVE LOVE that edition of the Book Thief, but instead I own the edition with the dominos and it’s all brown and gross. But what I liked about that cover was how it clicked and made sense at a certain point in the book when there’s some domino analogy lol. AND OMG I DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT THAT EDITION OF CITY OF BONES. IT’S GORGEOUSSS. Hahaha for some reason it just clicked when I saw the picture of the illustrated editions of HP and I remembered a dream I had a few nights ago where an illustrated edition of Lady Midnight was released. Really random and not happening anytime soon probably but IT WOULD STILL BE AMAZING. But only if they could draw the characters just right! XD

    1. We have the “brown and gross” edition as well (we just don’t tell people that *shhhh*) Yeah for sure, that cover does make sense though, we’ll give it that haha

WE KNOW IT IS THE GREATEST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO PLANET EARTH AND NOW THIS WILL BE OUR THIRD COPY OF JUST CITY OF BONES BUT WE CAN’T RESIST THE BEAUTY UGGGGGHHHHH !!!! In other words, though, it is really super cool looking and it is going to have tons of bonus content that we are SO excited about!

HAHA WE WISH YOUR DREAM WAS REAL, that would be SO COOL. But we’ll settle for the 10th anniversary edition of CITY OF BONES. To be honest though, now that I’m thinking about it, your dream probably isn’t that far-fetched. Considering they are releasing a graphic novel version of CITY OF BONES that is illustrated by Cassandra Jean in like September (October? not sure, but sometime this fall before the 10th anniversary edition), who’s to say they wouldn’t, eventually, make a graphic novel of LADY MIDNIGHT, right? Which is essentially an illustrated edition….

Anyway, we digress haha. We’re so glad though that there is someone here who gets as excited about new editions as we do 🙂

      1. Oh okay okay! WE GOT YOU haha. Yeah not sure what the deal was on that other one, but we think we know what you are talking about. Who knows really! At least we are getting a new one, and we absolutely adore Cassandra Jean’s artwork so we’re pretty pumped
